Desi Paws is a brand operated by MU Aesthetic Retail LLP, a limited
liability partnership registered in India (GSTIN 27ACAFM9411B1ZL).
In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to MU Aesthetic Retail LLP,
trading as Desi Paws.

We operate this store and website, including all related information,
content, features, tools, products and services (the "Services"). Desi
Paws is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to
you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your
personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other
transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there
is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this
Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and
disclosure of your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of
the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and
understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as
described here.

WHAT WE COLLECT RIGHT NOW

We have not yet launched our products. At present, the only personal
information we collect from you directly is:

  Your first and last name and your email address, if you choose to join our
  waitlist.

We do not currently take payments, process orders, or collect addresses,
phone numbers or financial information. The sections below describe the
full range of information we may collect once our store begins selling,
so that you know in advance what to expect.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT OR PROCESS

When we use the term "personal information", we are referring to
information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another
person. Personal information does not include information that is
collected anonymously or that has been de-identified so that it cannot
identify or be reasonably linked to you.

Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect or process
the following categories of personal information:

  Contact details including your name, address, billing address, shipping
  address, phone number and email address.

  Financial information including payment card information, financial
  account information, transaction details, form of payment and payment
  confirmation. Payment card details are handled by our payment processors
  and are not stored by us.

  Account information including your username, password, preferences and
  settings.

  Transaction information including the items you view, add to your cart
  or wishlist, or purchase, return, exchange or cancel, and your past
  transactions.

  Communications with us including the information you include when you
  contact us, for example when sending a customer support enquiry.

  Device information including information about your device, browser or
  network connection, your IP address, and other unique identifiers.

  Usage information including information about how and when you interact
  with or navigate the Services.

PERSONAL INFORMATION SOURCES

We may collect personal information from the following sources:

  Directly from you, including when you join our waitlist, create an
  account, visit or use the Services, or communicate with us.

  Automatically through the Services, including from your device when you
  visit our website, and through the use of cookies and similar
  technologies where you have consented to them.

  From our service providers, including when we engage them to enable
  certain technology and when they collect or process your personal
  information on our behalf.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Depending on how you interact with us or which of the Services you use, we
may use personal information for the following purposes:

  To provide, tailor and improve the Services. To perform our contract
  with you, process your payments, fulfil your orders, remember your
  preferences, send notifications related to your account, process
  purchases, returns, exchanges or other transactions, arrange for
  shipping, enable you to post reviews, and improve the Services.

  Marketing and communication. To send you updates about Desi Paws by
  email, including product news, test results and launch information, and
  to show you online advertisements. Where we send you marketing email, we
  do so only with your consent, and you may withdraw that consent at any
  time.

  Security and fraud prevention. To authenticate your account, provide a
  secure payment and shopping experience, and detect, investigate or take
  action regarding possible fraudulent, illegal, unsafe or malicious
  activity.

  Communicating with you. To provide customer support, respond to your
  questions, and maintain our business relationship with you.

  Legal reasons. To comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal
  process, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms
  or policies.

HOW WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION

In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to
third parties for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy:

  With Shopify, vendors and other third parties who perform services on
  our behalf, such as website hosting, email delivery, payment processing,
  data analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfilment and shipping.

  With business and marketing partners to provide marketing services and
  advertise to you. Our business and marketing partners will use your
  information in accordance with their own privacy notices. You may direct
  us not to share information about you for targeted advertising by
  writing to privacy@desipaws.co.in.

  When you direct or request us to, or otherwise consent to disclosure to
  a third party, for example to ship you products.

  In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, to comply
  with applicable legal obligations, to enforce our terms or policies, and
  to protect or defend the Services and the rights of our users or others.

We do not sell your personal data.

YOUR RIGHTS UNDER INDIAN LAW

This section reflects the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
("DPDP Act").

Our basis for processing. Where we collect your personal data, we do so on
the basis of your consent, given when you submit a form on our website or
otherwise provide your information to us. We tell you at the point of
collection what we are collecting and why.

Purpose. If you join our waitlist, we use your first name and email
address to send you updates about Desi Paws products, our testing and our
launch. We do not use that information for any other purpose.

Withdrawing consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time. Click the
unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or write to
privacy@desipaws.co.in. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness
of anything we did before you withdrew it.

Your rights. Subject to the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  Access. Ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and
  how we are processing it.

  Correction. Ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data, or
  update data that is out of date.

  Erasure. Ask us to delete your personal data, unless we are required by
  law to retain it.

  Grievance redressal. Raise a complaint with us about how we handle your
  personal data.

  Nomination. Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your
  behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

How to exercise them. Write to privacy@desipaws.co.in. We will acknowledge
your request within 7 days and respond within 30 days. We may need to
verify your identity before acting on a request.

How long we keep your data. If you are on our waitlist, we keep your
details for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we
remove you from our mailing list. If you ask us to erase your data
entirely, we will do so unless we are required by law to keep it. Once
your personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected
for, we will erase it.

Your obligations. Under the DPDP Act, you are expected to provide
information that is authentic and not to impersonate another person when
providing personal data.

If you are not satisfied. If you are not satisfied with our response to
your complaint, you may raise the matter with the Data Protection Board of
India in accordance with the DPDP Act.

RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal
information about your access to and use of the Services in order to
provide and improve the Services for you. Information you submit to the
Services will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify as well as third
parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside, in
order to provide and improve the Services for you. In addition, to help
protect, grow and improve our business, we use certain Shopify enhanced
features that incorporate data and information obtained from your
interactions with our store, along with other merchants and with Shopify.
In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your
personal information, including for responding to your requests to
exercise your rights over use of your personal information for these

COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, to
understand how it is used, and to measure the performance of our
advertising. Where these are not strictly necessary to run the website, we
ask for your consent before setting them, and you may decline. You can
also control cookies through your browser settings.

We use Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on
Facebook and Instagram, and Google Analytics to understand how our website
is used. Both set cookies and process data in accordance with their own
privacy policies.

THIRD PARTY WEBSITES AND LINKS

The Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms
operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated
with or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security
policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not
responsible for the privacy or security of such sites. Our inclusion of
such links does not imply any endorsement of the content on those
platforms or of their owners or operators.

CHILDREN'S DATA

The Services are not intended for use by children. Under the DPDP Act, a
child is any person under the age of 18 years.

We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. We do not track
children, serve targeted advertising to children, or undertake any
processing that is likely to cause a detrimental effect on the wellbeing
of a child.

If you are a parent or lawful guardian of a child whose personal data has
been provided to us, please contact privacy@desipaws.co.in and we will
delete it.

SECURITY AND RETENTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We take reasonable security safeguards to prevent personal data breaches.
However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or
impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee perfect security. Any information
you send to us may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you
do not use unsecured channels to communicate sensitive or confidential
information to us.

How long we retain your personal information depends on factors such as
whether we need the information to maintain your account, to provide you
with Services, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, or
to enforce other applicable contracts and policies. See "How long we keep

COMPLAINTS

If you have a complaint about how we process your personal information,
please contact privacy@desipaws.co.in. If you are not satisfied with our
response, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of
India, or with your local data protection authority if you are outside
India.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We are based in India and your personal data is processed in India.
However, some of our service providers, including Shopify, operate
internationally, and your personal data may therefore be transferred to,
stored in, or processed in countries other than the one you live in. Where
we do this, we take steps to ensure your data continues to be protected.

If we transfer your personal information out of the European Economic Area
or the United Kingdom, we will rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such
as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the
transfer is to a country determined to provide an adequate level of
protection.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect
changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory
reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy on this website, update
the "Last updated" date, and provide notice as required by applicable law.
